Due to a change in policy, Google no longer allows you to block placement of your ads, in bulk, on mobile sites. This is bad news for companies that wish to not see their ads on poorly performing mobile apps. Previously, you were able to simply use the workaround by adding “googleadsenseformobileapps.com” as a negative target. There are new workarounds though with the help of a script that limits ads placements which have been noted in a google sheet.
- Not everyone wants to see ads based on the cookie preferences on their computers.
- Seeing adds at unwanted times is very annoying for multiple people who have reported it.
- It is possible to block ads with the actual use of script if you are savvy with computers.
“In other words: there is no such thing as a bad placement, there are just bad bids.”
